2012 Fullerton City Championship

The Fullerton City Championships are a great way to compete and meet new players. We have 2 events each year that will test all levels of players. The individual event held in August has both a gross flight and net flights for all players. This event dates back to the 80’s. The event is played both days at Fullerton Golf Course in Fullerton. The golf staff runs this like a professional event, from introductions on the tee, to playing a muni course that has been set up tournament tough. Each player will receive a tee prize and a lunch voucher for each day. Winners in each flight receive golf script. Only 25 to 30 percent of the field is payed so payouts are strong. 2010 Fullerton City Championship Results

The 2010 Fullerton City was one of the more exciting in many years. After the last day, 2 more holes were needed to decide this years champion. Ryan Takasugi and 2007 winner Patrick Cunningham Jr. needed 2 extra holes to award this years winner. Ryan Takasugi won the second playoff hole and took the 2010 Fullerton City Championship.

Nick Ferrante won the net division outlasting fellow club members Rob Zarandona (1st day leader), and Chuck Weiglin. Nick scored a nifty 4 under net for the both days. Chuck also was under par for both days, but fell one short of Nick. Nick’s score is now the record for net scores in the Fullerton City since 2005. Click here for all other results

2010 Fullerton City Championship

This years City Championship will be held on August 7th & 8th 2010. The first day will be held at Coyote Hills Golf Course, and the second day will be at Fullerton Golf Course. The fee for this 2 day event is only $190. Your fee will cover green fee and cart fees for both days, a $10 lunch coupon for both days, warm up range balls, and a tee prize. To play Fullerton and Coyote Hills with range balls on a weekend  would normally cost $200, and that doesn’t include lunch, tee prize, or the prize money to be handed out to the top players of each flight.

There will be two flights in this event, a gross flight, and a net flight. To qualify for the gross flight you must be a 4.9 or less. To qualify for the net flight you must be a 5.0 or above and also have a current SCGA or USGA handicap. You do not need to have a handicap for the gross flight.

Saturday will start at 11am with the net flight teeing off first. Tee times will be posted and available Friday August 6th. The second day times will be determined by the scores posted on Saturday. For all the rules and procedures for this event, go to the rules and procedure page on Fullertongolfevents.com

This event started in the 1990’s and now after having a new staff take it over in 2005, The Fullerton City Championship has been getting better. This is a two day event with one day at Fullerton Muni, and then one day at Coyote Hills. The two golf courses are both quite tight and narrow. Gives the golfer a great challenge. Fullerton has that local club feel, while Coyote Hills has more of a country club feel. Two great venues for this event. Click here for entry form.
